Uma Shanti, a well-known singer from Ukraine, is accused of insulting the Indian flag while performing in a Mundhwa nightclub. The Pune Police have reported her in an FIR. On video was an event that happened on Sunday night. The video rapidly became popular online. Havaldar Tanaji Deshmukh filed the FIR at the Koregaon Park police station after a video of the alleged behavior was widely shared on social media.

Ukrainian Singer Uma Shanti Booked For Insulting India’s Flag At Pune Concert

A pre-Independence Day event hosted by Karthik More and held at the Freq – Super Club Bar Kitchen supposedly featured a performance by Uma Shanti, the lead singer of the band Shanti People.

According to senior police inspector Vishnu Tamhane, Uma Shanti and the event’s organizer Kartik Morein were the targets of a complaint.

Throughout her performance, Uma Shanti was seen dancing while holding the national flag in each of her hands. She was also seen tossing the flags towards the audience. After the incident’s video went viral, officials began an inquiry.

The case has been given to assistant police inspector Sandeep Jore. After being accused of disrespecting the national flag of India, the artist was subject to legal proceedings.

The accusations have been made under Sections 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and Section 110 of the Maharashtra Police Act, according to Punekar News. No one has been taken into custody as of yet.

As part of their India tour, the Ukrainian band “Shanti People” performed last week in Bengaluru and Bhopal. The band performed in Bangalore and Bhopal the week before they were in India last week. Shanti had already performed in Pune in October 2022; this was her second appearance there.
